Getting started

Loc Out blocks the apps and websites you choose while you're at the places you choose. Setup takes about a minute:

That's it. From then on it runs on its own.

Common questions

Blocking didn't turn on when I arrived

iOS updates location in the background on its own schedule, so there can be a short delay after you arrive. If it hasn't started after a few minutes, open Settings in the app and tap Refresh Block Status. Check too that Location is set to Always and that Precise Location is on.

Why does Loc Out need Always location?

So blocking can start when you arrive and stop when you leave, even when the app isn't open. Your location is checked on your device only, to answer a single question: are you inside one of your saved places or not. It is never sent anywhere.

I can't remove something from my block list

That's intended. While blocking is active you can always add more, but you can't remove items or delete the place you're currently in. Step outside the place and everything unlocks for editing.

I can't delete a place

Same reason. A place can't be edited or deleted while you're standing inside it and blocking is active. Leave the area and try again.

What does "Prevent App Deletion While Blocking" do?

It stops apps from being deleted while Loc Out is actively blocking, so uninstalling isn't a shortcut around your own rules. Apple only offers this as a device-wide setting, so while it's on it applies to every app, not just Loc Out. It's off by default and you can turn it off any time in Settings.

How many places can I have?

Up to 20. Each one has its own radius, which you can adjust when you create or edit it.

Does Loc Out collect my data?

No. There's no account, no server, and no analytics. Your places and block list stay on your device. See the privacy policy for the full detail.
